Get That Laundry Right First Time

by:GOWORLD     2020-10-02
The commercial laundry is a major expense and whether you are building it for the first time or getting the present one revamped the obvious thing is to get it right first time. It is probably the easiest thing to say and the most difficult to do in real life. There are a number of items that need to be done before the money is spent and there is a lot of help that you can get.
Never be afraid to take advice but also know what to accept and what to discard, in other words keep overall control of the project and do not be pushed into something you do not want. The first thing is to decide the parameters that the commercial laundry needs to work under, this should include the number of items to be processed, the type of product to be cleaned and the work required.
Take time to breakdown the work load putting in minimum and maximum quantities. Decide on your budget and do not be swayed away from it without very good reason.
Decide on your working practice, is it going to be a 24 hour, 7 day a week practice or a typical 9 to 5 working place. Remember that equipment that stands idle is expensive, if you have it make maximum usage out of it if you can. Pick your premises well and just take time to work out the best deal. The options are many in that a cheap unit in some old warehouse is adequate to do the job, but you may need somewhere else as a front for the business, on the other hand a new super unit will attract top dollar leasing costs that are unnecessary. Once you know your project better than anybody else you can then talk to the experts.
There are some very good designers and suppliers and this can be put together usually so that you get free advice. The supplier is obviously hoping for a good order to pay for the advice. They will advise on the types of washers, dryers, irons and ancillaries that you will need. If you go to a supplier like laundry 365 you can get full design and a 365 day a year service system so it is worth getting a good supplier and consultant. Having picked your supplier remember to pick just what bells and whistles you need, if you do not need it do not pay extra. Also remember that you can limit extra capacity if you have a 365 day service supplier.
